The Contribution of the Humanities, Now and in the Future
Tuesday the 6th of December at 5:45pm
A welcome reception and panel discussion for the AULLA 2016 Conference
As a part of its centenary year program, Victoria University is hosting the 2016 conference of the Australasian Universities Languages and Literature Association (AULLA) in Footscray, Melbourne. The evening before the conference’s academic program starts, we are holding a reception to welcome participants, which will include a panel discussion on ‘The Contribution of the Humanities, Now and in the Future.’
The motive behind this panel is to prompt humanities academics and the broader community to engage in a dialogue about place and purpose: how the often specialised contributions of humanities researchers and teachers are always contributing to something bigger and more publically important than any one person’s work ever is — or maybe not quite.
This event is open to all interested, free of charge. It also gives AULLA participants a chance to register ahead of the conference.
